Authentic freedom places demands on us. In discovering and comprehending our fundamental relations to one another and zestfully performing our duties, true freedom, which all people long for, is indeed possible. From the author’s ‘Art of living’.

Most people tend to delude themselves into thinking that freedom comes from doing what feels good to what fosters comfort and ease. Don’t be a slave to your desires and aversions; else you would be ill-prepared to act effectively and nobly when unexpected challenges occur, as they inevitably will. 

When you are faithfully occupied with performing the acts of a wise and decent person, seeking to synchronise your intentions and acts to the divine will, you do not feel victimised by the words or deeds of others.

Except for extreme physical abuse, other people cannot hurt you unless you allow them to. And this holds true even if the person is your parent, brother, sister, teacher, or employer. Don’t consent to be hurt and you won’t be hurt.

A Difficult Judgment
WHO CAN BE CALLED AS BELIEVERS IN GOD?
In a small town, a person decided to open up his Bar business, which was right opposite to a Temple. The Temple & its congregation started a campaign to block the Bar from opening with petitions and prayed daily against his business.

Work progressed. However, when it was almost complete and was about to open a few days later, a strong lightning struck the Bar and it was burnt to the ground.

The temple folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, till the Bar owner sued the Temple authorities on the grounds that the Temple through its congregation and prayers was ultimately responsible for the demise of his bar shop, either through direct or indirect actions or means.

In its reply to the court, the temple staff and devotes denied all responsibility or any connection that their prayers were reasons to the bar shop's demise.

As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork at the hearing and commented: "I don't know how I'm going to decide this case, but it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer and we have an entire temple and its devotees who don't."

I enrolled for Aadhaar card today. The particulars of the enrolling agency given below for general benefit. 

Take care about the Nampallly Centre that appears on the uidai.gov.in because though on the website of uidai.gov.in, one address details appear, when I went to Nampally I could not locate it. When I spoke to the person whose mobile no. is given on the website, he said he is not doing the work anymore and may be it is a updation mistake. That is the only address which comes up Online  for Hyderabad and even an appointment no. etc. screen comes up which I printed. But it was a failed trip. 

Secondly the above website of the govt. does not mention about the Karvy or any other centre for Hyderabad, giving the enrolment services.

• Other tips: 
• It is open on Sundays too. 
• If one reaches 10 min. before that, then the whole process including transferring your data on the computer, finger and thumb prints, iris scan etc. can be completed within one hour. 
• 9-00 am is the opening time but then the line builds up. 
• The staff may be 10-15 min. late. 
• There are 2-3 computer counters to capture the data on computer and do the fingerprinting and iris scanning. 
• I was satisfied about the quality of the service and the care they took to ensure that the data is correct. 
• I took an filled up enrolment application that I had downloaded from uidai.gov.in and printed, but that was not useful since Karvy had their own serially numbered applications which I filled up again.

In a church school, the teacher asked the children, "If I give my wealth away to the church and serve the church, will I go to heaven?" The children in unison said, :No!".
Then he asked, "If I serve the poor, wash the leper's feet and wipe the tears of a child's face, will I go to heaven?" The children said, "No!

Then he asked, "If I love my wife, love my children, take care of my family, do my duty to my nation, will I go to heaven?" They said, "No!"

Then he asked, "Then what should I do to go to heaven>"

Little tommy from the backbench said, "You got to die."

You don't have to kill the world; or your body- you have no business to kill the body because you didn't make ti. You have every right to kill all that you have created- you have no right to kill what the Creator has created. But the person that you call as "myself" is all your making. If you kill that one guy, everything , the whole universe is yours. 

This is the tradeoff- "me" or the cosmos?

LONDON: A growing number of people are now suffering from a newly identified sleep disorder called 'semi-somnia ' triggered by stress and technology use, sleep experts say. 

Rather than having totally sleepless nights, sufferers of semi-somnia experience short bouts of sleep disruption — perhaps on particularly busy or stressful days, experts claim. 

An Indian-origin expert has even coined a phrase 'fizzy sleep' to explain sleep difficulties faced by sufferers. 

"It's not a scientific term, but clients say that's what their head feels like. They are asleep but it's not restful. It's a jangly, information-filled sleep where the brain is still highly active," said Dr Nerina Ramlakhan, a sleep coach at London's Capio Nightingale hospital, and author of the book Tired But Wired. 

The condition is being called insomnia's irritating little sister, but despite not sharing the full agonizing symptoms of acute sleeplessness — which has been linked to weakened immune systems , depression, high blood pressure and even heart disease — semi-somnia is far from harmless, the 'Daily Mail' reported. 

Victims may wake every night for 30 minutes, or find it impossible to sleep for an hour because their minds are racing. Experts are of the opinion that semi-somnia started plaguing people now because of excessive use of technology. 

"We've spent five years researching this with 30,000 sufferers and technology is probably the main cause," said Jean Gomes, chairman of The Energy Project — a consultancy to help people counteract tiredness issues.
