Have machines made the life happier, less stressed and with more free time?

A survey conducted by a UK-based technology retailer has found that 

1. use of smart devices has lengthened the average working day by almost 2 hrs.
2. companies expect their employees to be available all day and week.
3. more s expected of employees as far as work capacity is concerned. 
4. average working hours 9-10 hrs. and 2 hrs. extra for emails/calls. 
5. one third of workers access emails or phones over 20 times a day.
6. 3 hrs. time spent answering emails outside work.
7. 90% take work related emails/calls outside normal working hours.
8. over a third respond to emails in the middle of night.
